As Brian pointed out, while we were at the Deer Lake Believer’s Conference over Labor Day weekend, none of the people getting baptized had made a profession of faith that day. These were believers who decided to own their faith and obey the scriptures and be baptized. In most cases the fathers had the honor of baptizing their children. Levi and Hillary’s parents were celebrating their 25th Anniversary and so Mike offered to baptize Levi and then he and Levi baptized Hillary.

A couple of weeks ago the saints were invited to gather down in Centrailia for the annual Cider Press.

A Cider Press is more a time of fellowship than work. Definitely not like a barn raising, or chicken cooping for that matter. 🙂 In the evening we came together (ekklesia) at a local grange to minister the Word and share a meal.

On Wednesday, the saints up here had the opportunity to host Steve Gregg. While no one had ever met him before, several of us had heard him teach thanks to a brother down in Oregon who made several hours of his teachings into mp3s and sent them to us. I remembered to bring my recorder and so I was able to record most of the evening as Steve answered a variety of questions.

Several families from churches all over the Pacific Northwest gathered in Rockaway, Oregon over the Memorial Day weekend at an event host by Shield of Faith to fellowship and encourage one another. The time between breakfast and lunch was devoted to singing, teaching and hearing how God is working around the world. In the evening, after dinner, there is an open meeting for any who felt lead to share from what God has given them.

The rest of the time is devoted to fellowship either in the dining hall, recreation rooms or on the beach. With over 400 people there never seemed to be enough time to talk with everyone.

I had the priviledge of staying up into the wee hours (this photo was taken at 12:30am)Â of the morning with Bill, Steve, Jim & Wes as we wrestled with what 2 Peter 1:5-8 looks like pratically and how much of that is our work and how much is the Holy Spirit’s as we are submitted to Christ and letting His love richly dwell within us. This time is becoming one of the highlights of the year for many families.

The saints gathered at the Chapmans this evening to encourage and share with one another. It’s so neat to watch how God works within the body to minister from one to another. After much singing, praying and ministering of the Word we all broken in Steve’s new coffee maker.

The saints gathered at the Hackings tonight to, among other things, hear from Mr. Sconce about the people in Paupa New Guinea and how God is working to reach them for the gospel.

Now that camera phones are becoming common, some of the believers up here have been sending picture messages to each other. I received these today with the message “Test.†So it looks like Steve and or Nathaniel have a camera phone with text messaging now.
